I was talking about this today. As an online retailer you would think this trend suits us but given we have one store as well I can see it from both sides.
Personally, I think people will be sorry the day when everything is available at home - no need to shop outside means you will meet friends less and socialise less. I don't see people coming round to each others house for a group session exploring Predator Nutrition's website. Lol, even I don't want that!
From our side, I think the high street has some possibilities that we can see and will look to implement in our stores. At the same time, since Oct 1 the landscape in the industry has changed. Combine that with the economy and I would expect some to go bust (I think tough times is what has led to the counterfeit issues we have reported).
It will be a sad day when the high street is full of Poundlands, luxury boutiques and coffee shops in my opinion.
