Mixelflick - What's your take on taking products which work by reducing inflammation with X-Factor?The one cycle of x factor that was less effective of me was when I ran it with Iforce Joint. For that matter could a high chilli diet (I'm addicted to hot sauce!) also negatively impact gains if as stated above curcumin can do so?
Highly dependent on the compound but in general, anti-inflammatory agents would be counter-productive. That would include high dose omega-3/9 oils, Cissus, Curcumin, Astaxanthin etc. Any anti-inflammatory that builds into the cell membrane (i.e. Omega-3's), will subvert it IMO.
Ecdy seems to be the exception, given there's evidence it increases free AA/prostaglandin pools. The odd thing about it though, is that Ecdy radically cuts down on DOMS. I'm speculating, but surmise its anti-oxidant effects vastly outweighs any increase in AA which explains the end results (being less sore).
AA seems to strike the right balance of elevating some markers of inflammation while reducing others (IL-6, for example). I suspect localized inflammation in muscle explains it.
